After reading Burglar Bill by Allan Ahlberg we designed a device that would include an electrical circuit and a switch made by us that could be used by characters in the story.

Designing and making Electrical Devices
After reading Burglar Bill by Allan Ahlberg we designed a device that would include an electrical circuit and a switch made by us that could be used by characters in the story.

Symbols of Easter
We are looking at the symbols relating to Easter.
Can you explain the symbolism within the hot cross bun?

Literacy
Finding out about an Author.
We are looking at books by the author Allan Ahlberg. He's written lots of fantastic children's books including Burglar Bill, Peepo, Jolly Postman and Cops and Robbers. Which Allen Ahlberg bools do you like?
To help get a better understanding of Ahlberg's work we worked on asking questions about his work and finding out about how he works as an author.
Here are some of our questions. (check that question marks are used!)

Science
Human Circuit
Beanstalk Base became a human circuit using an amazing energy ball.
If everyone held hands and made a circuit the ball would light up!
We tested ideas by children becoming switches by breaking the circuit (letting go of hands) and then switching back on by joining up the circuit again. This helped us understand that circuits have to allow the electricity flow all the way around to make it work.

Literacy - WORLD BOOK DAY
Beanstalk Base had a fantastic World Book Day. Our theme was the book 'The Twits' by Roald Dahl.
We wrote new chapters to the story, made props for telling the story and created Mr & Mrs. Twit.

Science - Making Connections
We have been investigating how to make electrical circuits. Look at how we've managed to make circuits using different components in them. What happens when you add 2 bulbs to a circuit?
